General
The STABIL PROTECT burglary protection with the resistance class 1 or 2 makes life difficult for uninvited guests. Conventional windows offer only very poor protection from unwelcome guests. Often burglars have an easy job. If a burglar spends more time for braking-in as needed, he will probably continue searching or get caught. With PROTECT system STABIL offers tested quality of 2 resistance classes that can be chosen according to demands. Special safety fittings in PROTECT make sure that the windows are more resistant against usage of an uncommon force. So your house will be safer and you can be sure your belongings are well secured. Possible versions of WK1 and WK2 They are available for:

Resistance class 1
Windows of the resistance class WK1 are tested twice and offer a basic protection against physical use of force (e.g.: against kicking, against cracking): a.) The static test: a test load of 300 kg is brought on the locking unit of a casement. b.) The dynamic test: this test is simulated against throwing and kicking. From the height of 80 cm a 30 kg heavy sandbag is brought on the casement edges and on the glass. Window version (WK1) • All 4 casement edges are secured with the closing elements and a mushroom head bolt • The protection against drilling is mounted in the gear unit • 1 block handle (100 Nm) must be mounted Glazing (WK1) For the proven safety WK1 the 6 mm VSG glass from the outside is required. Glass construction: 6VSG/A16/B4K (= 26 mm total width). Aluminium, stainless steel and plastic spacers are possible as well as argon or krypton filling, depending on the Ug-value. Internal and external muntins are available. |

Resistance class 2
Windows of the resistance class WK2 offer additional protection against attacks with tools (e.g.: pliers, wedges, screwdrivers) and are tested as follows: a.) The static test as for WK1 b.) The dynamic test as for WK1 c.) The additional manual test: in WW2 class an examiner tries to simulate a burglary by using tools (defined for this class) and tries to make a hole with the 350 mm diameter in a defined time. Window version (WK2) • All 4 casement edges are secured with closing elements and a mushroom head bolt • The additional safety closing elements with the mushroom head bolt are mounted in the gaps • The protection against drilling is mounted inthe gear unit. The water drainage channel is screwed to the jamb. The glass strips are adhered and screwed1 block handle (100 Nm) must be mounted. Glazing (WK2) For the proven safety WK2 the A3 (4/1, 14/4) glass from the outside is required. Glass construction: 10VSGA3/A12/B4K (= 26 mm total strength). Aluminium, stainless steel and plastic spacers are possible as well as argon or krypton filling, depending on Ug-value. Internal and external muntins are available. |
